Update on Church Closure
Worship With Us live on Facebook every Sunday at 11am and Wednesdays at 7pm!
An invitation to come and see what we are up to at First United Presbyterian Church of Tarentum. We are a church that is dedicated to community, to people of all ages, to each other and most of all to God. We would love to see you again and if you have never visited we would love to welcome you.
The unity of believers in Christ is reflected in the rich diversity of the people of God. In Christ, by the power of the Spirit, God unites all of us through baptism regardless of race, ethnicity, sexual preference, gender identity, disability, geography or theological conviction. Christ invited any and all to the table who wished to follow Him and at First UP we believe in doing the same. A community is only as strong as its most marginalized member and at First UP we seek to rectify the idea of community as a sent people who see all people as beloved children of God.
First UP Church stands in the PCUSA tradition and belief that all are welcome into the fullness of the church including but not limited to worship, governance, participation in the sacraments (baptism and communion) and other areas as lead and approved by the church session (small groups, weddings, funerals, etc). Stated plainly, we practice that all are truly welcome at First United Presbyterian Church in Tarentum.
“As many of you were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is no longer Jew or Greek, there is no longer slave or free, there is no longer male or female; for all of you are one in Christ Jesus. And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s offspring, heirs according to the promise” Galations 3:27-29
